Properties and Uses:
Coconut oil is extracted by cold pressing the flesh of the coconut. At room temperature, it appears in solid form, similar to butter; while at temperatures above 20°C, it liquefies. This characteristic plays a key role in its storage and use: in summer, it can be kept in a bottle and drawn out with a pipette; while in winter, it's recommended to warm the container in a water bath or transfer it to a larger, sterilised container fitted with a lid, before scooping it out with a spoon. As a cosmetic product, skin benefits from its properties in terms of beauty, elasticity and softness. It's excellent as a facial makeup remover or as a moisturising cream after showering.
